Gucci, owned by the Kering group, announced the launch of ‘Gucci Garden’ in Piazza della Signoria in Florence on on January 9th, in conjunction with the opening of Pitti Uomo. The space, hosted in the historic Palazzo della Mercanzia, opposite of the Palazzo Vecchio, is designed by the creative director Alessandro Michele and it will host a restaurant entrusted to the chef Massimo Bottura.

Bottura, recently confirmed three-star chef by Michelin, not only is considered to be the best Italian chef, but also to be among the top three chefs in the world – last year his restaurant came first in ‘The World’s 50 Best Restaurants’ competition. Standard bearer of both tradition and innovation and strongly connected to the products of his land, Bottura, so far, had moved away from Modena – where he has the restaurant Osteria Francescana and the bistrot Franceschetta58 – only for openings linked to the ‘Food for Soul’ project, with which he launched social refectories that recovers food surpluses in Milan, Rio de Janeiro, Bologna, Modena, and Turin.

In addition to the restaurant run by Bottura, ‘Gucci Garden’, will feature a store carrying an exclusive, limited-edition product collection, available nowhere else, and an exhibition area curated by high-profile critic Maria Luisa Frisia.
