Gucci has already proposed fuzzy loafers, double-G belts, logo t-shirts and embellished trainers, and now, with the Pre-fall 2018 collection, it introduces the new baseball caps created in collaboration with the Major League Baseball (MLB).
The Pre-Fall 2018 collection’s lookbook consisting of 82 different looks, featuring plenty of rich and whimsical prints, vintage references, quirky detailing, and tactile fabrics that characterize printed hiking boots, fringed bomber jackets, sequin shirt-dresses, and technical clothing – like the highly fashionable windbreakers – to be worn in an urban environment while winking to the full-blown outdoor. The atmosphere of the collection fits perfectly with the outcome of the Gucci x MLB: baseball hats, some featuring bird and floral motifs, ranging in color and style that are paired with a number of outfits in the lookbook. One of these is a classic Yankees hat emblazoned with Gucci’s snake emblem to a pink rendition, another one is a Gucci x Yankees beanie.
These hats seem to be only tip of a fashion and baseball mashup iceberg. In fact, according to a release from the fashion house, the collaboration will extend to include several of MLB’s historic teams in both the apparel and accessories categories, which are going to be presented on the runway in Milan in February.
