The Villeroy & Boch Culinary World Cup is one of the largest and most important cooking competitions in the world that takes place in the halls of Luxexpo The Box in Luxembourg-Kirchberg within the Expogast, high-level international gastronomy fair, every four years.

The chefs of the Italian national team got the better of the other 30 national teams that arrived from all over the world to prepare their best ‘cold dishes’ in front of the judges of the 2018 edition of the competition. The competition focuses on the preparation techniques of the competing chefs who, for the ‘cold dishes’ stage, proposed a series of preparations of finger foods, pastries, first and main courses. The preparation of ‘Hot dishes’ is evaluated in two subsequent days.

The president of the Federazione Italiana Cuochi, Rocco Pozzulo, expressed his “maximum satisfaction in seeing a real a leap in quality in the work of Italian chefs. But also because they were ambassadors and promoters of Made in Italy since all the raw materials they used were strictly Italian.
The victory honored in the best possible way the Italian Cuisine Week entitled ‘#Vivere all’italiana – Italian Festival’ and organized in Luxembourg by the Italian Embassy in collaboration with the Brussels Office of the Ice Agency and the Italian-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce.
