Maison & Objet, the Parisian international trade fair dedicated to lifestyle, fashion and trends, this year will take place from January 19th to 23rd. Each edition of the eagerly expected event of the design scene puts six young talents under the spotlight, all of whom have been sponsored by powerful mentors, and this edition will reveal the talent of six Italian designers with the assistance of the Italian Trade Agency – the business development agency in charge of developing international Italian trade.
The six Made in Italy talents are worthy representatives of a new generation of Italian designers that, in accordance with its country’s tradition, in respect of the best Italian craftsmanship, and with a wide open mind, is striving for excellence. Each of them has been carefully selected by renowned figures, who accepted to become his/her mentor: architect and designer Andrea Branzi chose Federica Biasi for her subtle and poetic production; Rosita Missoni picked Marco Lavit Nicora because of his technical expertise and his work with the best craftsmen; designer Luca Nichetto selected Federico Peri because of his natural talent at creating a genuine experience with each of his objects; art director Giulio Cappellini chose Antolio Facco because of his sensitivity and unbridled imagination; architect Piero Lissoni selected Kensaku Oshiro because of the way in which he successfully brings together Eastern and Western design concepts; and Rossana Orlandi selected Guglielmo Poletti because of his energy, specific approach and the extreme simplicity that transpires from each of his creations.
