Eataly opens in Sweden

Following the recent opening of Eataly Los Angeles in California, Oscar Farinetti is currently concentrating  on the opening of its new location in Sweden which is about to be inaugurated. The many Eataly points abroad confirm the value of the brand on an international scale, but they are also the proof of the ability to adapt to local contingencies, which is one of the most successful features of the massive expansion project planned in recent years that for the future envisages openings in Spain – scheduled for the end of 2018 with the support of the Adrià brothers -, London, Canada, and Paris.

The format, with its niche products, traditional cuisine, and educational projects, brings all the best of Made in Italy specialties in Biblioteksgatan, the shopping street in the heart of Stockholm. The 3 thousand square meters location developed on two floors that used to house the historical cinema Röda Kvarn will be adapted to welcome visitors in its different areas for shopping, restaurants, and the Eataly School for the teaching.

Farinetti commented: “Stockholm is distributed on 14 islands and is connected by 57 bridges. We, at Eataly, love the islands, but we prefer bridges that connect and unite. We are all islands, but we need bridges.” The same philosophy is shared by Eataly’s Executive President Andrea Guerra: “A new opening is another very important step for us. The one that we open in Stockholm is a shop to love, which satisfies the eyes and gives emotions. (…) For the first time, more than 1,500 Italian products, ambassadors of our food and wine culture and of our quality of life, enter Sweden, historically among the countries most attentive to the social welfare of its population.”
