Chef, restaurateur, hotelier, television personality Antonello Colonna’s love for Rome inspires his new venture, ‘Colonna in Galleria‘, a new restaurant that aims to revitalize Galleria Alberto Sordi, the elegant shopping arcade in Rome named after the actor Alberto Sordi. The prestigious gallery, set in a striking historic building designed in the early 1900s by the architect Dario Carbone in the heart of Rome, is one of the city’s shopping highlights and home to several Italian boutiques such as Boggi, Furla and Massimo Dutti. In the recent past the building lost some of its grandeur, however an agreement between Cavalier Valteri Mainetti, of Sorgente Group (owner of the building), and Colonna intends to return it to its former splendor.
Among the high fashion showcases, ‘Colonna in Galleria‘ will represent a prestigious gastronomic proposal that will be more than a restaurant; it will be the place where to eat and drink well throughout the day. “A project born from my love for this city – underlines the chef of Labico – and for a building that deserves to return to the splendor of the 1920s.” The Galleria Alberto Sordi, coincidentally located in Piazza Colonna, is more and more returning to be a highlight for Romans and tourists looking for a calm, cultural shopping experience when in Rome.
