Manara’s vision of femininity through his high heel shoes

Manfredi Manara has been invited by the Italian National Chamber of Fashion (Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana – CNMI) to present his 2018 summer collection at Fashion Hub Market. This is the CNMI’s project that supports emerging brands from all over the world offering them the opportunity to present their collections during the Milan fashion week: an important visibility and networking platform.
Manfredi Manara, born in 1990, grew up between Milan and London and graduated from the London College of Fashion before working in London, Paris and New York. But in the end, he returned to Parabiago (Milan), where, thanks to a family-run atelier, he realized his dream of producing and launching his own woman’s footwear collection, in 2017. The line was immediately chosen to take part in Artisanal Intelligence, curated by Clara Tosi Pamphili and Alessio De Navasques as part of Altaroma July 2016.

The collections of this designer, who seems a romantic literature character, offer a poised and delicate vision of the most revered of accessories of women’s fashion: the high heel shoe. His creations feature classic shapes that focus on slenderness and femininity, most of which are embellished with ‘passamanerie’ (custom-made intricate fabric trims). These fine details give each shoe an aura of nostalgic romanticism, and they perfectly complement the rich velvet and supple satin fabrics often used.
