From April 6 to 8, Rome will host the second edition of ‘La Città della Pizza’ (The City of Pizza), an event dedicated to the thousand facets of the best known Italian food in the world, on a journey from North to South. In the exhibition space of the Ex-Caserma Guido Reni, the 3-day event organized by Vinòforum will focus on raw ingredients such as flour, tomatoes, mozzarella, and extra virgin olive oil.
Attendees will have the opportunity to choose from over 120 pizza recipes from the most traditional to the most creative ones and pair them with Italian craft beers and wines. Pizza-chefs from all over Italy will be involved in ‘Case’, a program featuring 12 pop-up pizzerias per day, each of which will offer visitors 3 different pizzas: a Margherita or Marinara, their signature recipe, and a special edition designed exclusively for the occasion.
There will also be an Italian-style fried category, managed by chefs specialized in the art frying. In addition, many of the pizza-chefs will take part in ‘Spazio Convegni’, a workshop space dedicated to the discussion of techniques, condiments, and cooking among professionals, pizza makers and industry critics.
The most passionate pizza lovers will have plenty of opportunities to learn about their favorite food from master pizza-chefs: the ‘Kids Lab’ will host fun and educational workshops for children, and in ‘A scuola di Pizza’ adults will discover all the secrets of dough, cooking and seasonings together with the great names of the art of pizza making.
