Nuvola Lavazza, the roots of the future are embedded in eco-sustainability

Nuvola Lavazza (Cloud Lavazza), the new headquarters of the coffee company designed by architect Cino Zucchi in the Aurora district of Turin, was inaugurated on April 12, at the presence of the mayor of Turin, Chiara Appendino.

The new 30 thousand square meters headquarters, which will house 600 employees, includes the company offices, the Lavazza museum dedicated to the history of the company founded in Turin in 1895, the historical archive, a large green area open to the public, and the  “Condividere” (Share) restaurant directed by chef Federico Zanasi and set up by the three times Oscar winner screenwriter, Dante Ferretti – all within easy reach of the Settimo industrial center, where the Lavazza Innovation Center and the coffee processing and production plant are.

La Nuvola Lavazza contains our memory and our future – declared Alberto Lavazza, Chairman of the Group -. It has its roots firmly rooted in the city and in the Aurora district, historically the scene of our industrial development, but at the same time it is a cutting-edge complex able to dialogue with the whole world. So we like to think that Nuvola Lavazza has future roots, because we are convinced that the future can mature well only if the roots are deep.”

Vice President Marco Lavazza added that “Nuvola Lavazza has been recognized as one of the most environmentally sustainable buildings in the world”, highlighting that it has been developed focusing on people’s comfort, energy saving, and environmental protection. With Nuvola, Lavazza returned to the city an area that had been conceived for industrial use, re-qualifying it with a sustainable approach that allowed it to obtain the Platinum level of the LEED certification, the system that evaluates the energetic and environmental excellence of buildings.
