Milan Design Week 2018

Milan Design Week 2018

Milan Design Week, the world’s biggest design event, incorporates Salone del Mobile at Rho showgrounds and the Fuorisalone, a series of 1400 events and exhibitions spread across seven districts in Milan. A unique opportunity to soak up the absolute latest in design from around the world with thousands of individual events, exhibitions, launches, and presentations packed into less than a week.

The expected 50,000 visitors per day will find at Salone del Mobile 1,841 exhibitors across more than 200,000sqm of exhibition space. There, 5 events are taking place simultaneously: the Salone Internazionale del Mobile with the International Furnishing Accessories Exhibition – showcasing a huge range of styles of increasingly sophisticated products -, EuroCucina along with FTK (Technology For the Kitchen) – confirming the extraordinarily liveliness of a segment thriving on innovation, technology, and product quality with green orientated and ethically responsible products -, and SaloneSatellite – showcasing the amazing and exciting work of 650 young talents.

Moreover, Piazza del Duomo in Milan will host Living Nature. La natura dell’abitare project, an absolutely unique laboratory that combines design, engineering, and botany to test ways in which a space, be it domestic or urban, can be made more human-friendly by harnessing natural resources in a sustainable manner.

Salone del Mobile will again pay homage to outstanding ideas, creativity, innovation, and technology with the third edition of the Salone del Mobile Award on April 20th at Palazzo Marino. A jury – composed of a critic, an architect, a museum curator, a photographer and an exhibition curator – will award three companies that have distinguished themselves for their exceptional presence in this edition, basing their decision on products, display, materials, and technology.
