Lamborghini new super sports car unveiled in California

The highly anticipated and most technologically advanced version of the flagship V12 model to date, the Aventador SVJ – in a beautiful Verde Alceo finish -, was unveiled in a worldwide premiere during Monterey Car Week in California at “The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering”.

The new masterpiece from Sant’Agata Bolognese, produced in 900 units, is a gem of engineering and technology combined with a highly refined design that makes no compromises. Besides guaranteeing ultimate handling and performance as well as driving perfection and enjoyment, the Aventador SVJ is the fastest production car to have lapped the Nürburgring-Nordschleife circuit, completing 20.6 km in just 6:44.97 minutes. Providing an output of 770 CV and acceleration of 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 2.8 seconds, Aventador SVJ is a fusion of Lamborghini’s most promising technical elements, including the ALA active aerodynamics system. Together with extraordinary lines designed for aerodynamic supremacy, these elements ensure the track and performance superiority traditionally denoted by the ‘Jota’ suffix, while SV stands for Superveloce (‘super-fast’).

Automobili Lamborghini Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Stefano Domenicali, commented: “The Aventador SVJ is an innovative car and represents the absolute pinnacle of our super sports car product range. The challenge to Lamborghini designers and engineers was to improve the purest essence of the Lamborghini super sports car, drawing on every inspiration, from spaceships to jet fighters: all the most exceptional examples of super-fast, super-athletic, aerodynamic superiority. The Aventador SVJ takes another step into the future, shaping the potential for super sports car development.”
