Automobili Pininfarina revealed the first official images of the PF0, the temporary name of the electric hypercar prototype that the new automotive brand will unveil to the public during 2019. The occasion was the Monterey Car Week, in Pebble Beach, California, with a limited number of lucky people who were able to take part in a first launch event.
To find out the name of the first Automobili Pininfarina’s car, it will be necessary to wait until March 2019, when the new hypercar will be revealed at the Geneva International Motor Show. In the meantime, the first images do not reveal much, but it is possible to see that the innovative car will be perfectly in line with the high standards of the famous Italian design brand, with the usual extreme attention to details and the line will be extreme.
Michael Perschke, CEO of Automobili Pininfarina, said: “For a new automaker, this launch in the United States has been extremely stimulating, exciting and ultimately rewarding. Our guests at Pebble Beach were passionate about classic, performing cars and felt that the PF0 design combined the right balance between beauty and functional visual performance. They came to see a classic Pininfarina and they were not disappointed.” While, Automobili Pininfarina Design Director Luca Borgogno, explained: “Our ambition for the PF0 is based on the classic Pininfarina principles: combining elegance and beauty with a functional design that defines a new vision of the product. From 2020, the world will see the emergence of luxury electric hypercars that will set new standards of performance.”
