Aubergine parmigiana, caponata, pasta all’Amatriciana, pasta alla carbonara, homemade gnocchi and ravioli, creamy salted codfish, Sarde in saor, wild boar meatballs, risotto with wild mushrooms and taleggio cheese, tagliatelle ricotta and ‘nduja, porchetta, tigelle, selection of Italian cold cuts and cheeses, panuozzo, Bagna Càuda, Sicilian cannoli, pistachio cream, and many more. These are the authentic Italian flavors and consistencies to be enjoyed at ‘True Italian Food‘, the biggest party of the true Italian gastronomy in Berlin until September 30th in the 58 Italian restaurants, pizzerias, and wine bars.
In order to give the opportunity to the public to experience a tour of real Italian gastronomy, the restaurants will open their doors and offer their specialties for a fixed price; with only 7€ it is possible to taste a small portion of one of the delicious dishes on offer paired with a glass of wine, a beer, a soft drink, or a Spritz. In order to try one of the 50 different combinations of specialties in the True Italian restaurants, it sufficient to simply go to one of them and order its True Italian specialty. All of them will also offer the dishes listed in their regular menus, and every customer can decide whether to stay, and try something else on the menu, or to go to another True Italian restaurant to discover another authentic Italian recipe. To facilitate the tasting tour, True Italian created the ‘True Italian Food’ map: a metro map that indicates the location of every participating restaurant with their opening times and their True Italian specialty.
The event is organized by Berlin Italian Communication within the True Italian project, and it is supported by the Italian Cultural Institute of Berlin. The media partners are Berlino Magazine, Buongiorno Italia, and I Heart Berlin.
