One of the most legendary car races in the world, Targa Florio Classica, is a historic regularity race which recalls significant parts of motor-sport history with a mix of tradition, culture, and strong emotions. Also, the race gives the opportunity to discover several nice and evocative places of Sicily, driving through fascinating territories and landscapes.

This yeas edition of the prestigious competition, which is also the last trial of the Campionato Italiano Grandi Eventi, hosted many prominent brands with exclusive models of historic cars produced from 1927 to 1976. A total of over 150 crews including the participants to Ferrari Tribute to Targa Florio, one of Ferrari’s official events, which involves the owners of Ferrari of any time in the demanding Sicilian race. On top of the many Italian teams (including 17 Sicilians), there were crews from all the 5 continents: Spain, UK, Switzerland, Germany, Holland, United States, Argentina, Japan, Hong Kong, South Africa, and Australia.

The headquarters of the event was the Museum of Motors of the Museum System of the University of Palermo, at the Department of Industrial and Digital Innovation, while the start was in the central Piazza Verdi where the ‘Targa Florio Village’ was set up. The first stage arrived in Marsala, where there are the famous Cantine Florio and returned to Palermo passing through the historic salt pans. On Saturday the competition took place on the beautiful streets in the Madonie Park, including Floriopoli – with the local historic tribunes and old boxes -, the ancient stronghold of Caltavuturo, and Cefalù – with its Piazza del Duomo, listed as Unesco heritage site. On Sunday the grand final took place in and around Palermo.
