On Sunday, on the occasion of the historic international sailing regatta Barcolana, which has a week-long program, the tall ship Amerigo Vespucci, docked in Trieste, where it will remain until October 15. During this week, plenty of events will take place on board the ship, which on some days will also be opened for visits.
The gorgeous Amerigo Vespucci, laid down on May 12, 1930, is still currently in use as school ship of the Italian Navy (Marina Militare), and its home port is La Spezia. On October 11, the athletes and the promises of the youth sector, together with the volunteers of the sailing company Barcola and Grignano will board the Amerigo Vespucci to set sail on the beautiful ship.
On October 12, the Amerigo Vespucci will host the presentation of “Vienna sul lago” – a series of great cultural, including conferences, charity concerts, and an original gala evening at the “Venaria Real” with the young students of the Naval Academy -, the presentation of the 2019 Marina Militare calendar entitled “Palombari e Incursori nella Marina” (Navy surface-supplied divers and SEALS).
