Like every year every Saturday and Sunday in October and November in Alba are special days. This year the capital of the Langhe hosts the 88th edition of the International Alba White Truffle Fair, which is a showcase of high gastronomy and Italian excellence sided with numerous musical and cultural events.
The highlight of the Fair dedicated to the Tuber magnatum Pico is the Alba White Truffle World Market, an exhibition area located in the historic center, the perfect place to appreciate and buy the best truffles from the Langhe, Roero and Monferrato woods. Truffle is fragrance, poetry, mystery, but also “stellar” level cuisine and a status symbol with an everlasting charm. For this reason, another important appointment is the Alba Truffle Show, a great hub of cultural and gastronomic events that celebrate the “white gold” of the Langhe in all its shades. In this context, during all the weekends of the Fair, local, national, and international chefs, designers, writers, and artists sharing the same passion for truffles and the culture of good food and good taste get together for cooking shows, Truffle Sensory Analysis, and Wine Tasting Experiences pairing the excellent local food and wine from the hills of Langhe, Roero and Monferrato in “marriages of taste”.
But the Fair is also made of folklore and great historical re-enactments, confirming and increasing its educational purposes with the Alba Truffle Kids, a pavilion dedicated to children and equipped with educational games made of wood and natural materials; a place where they can play with their parents and discover, while having fun, the magical hills which are a UNESCO World Heritage. Moreover, from this year, thanks to the Alba Museum Network, it is possible to visit some of the richest and most interesting museums and places of the city with a single ticket.
