Eurochocolate 2018, Perugia is once again the capital of chocolate

Eurochocolate 2018, Perugia is once again the capital of chocolate

After 25 years, autumn would not be the same without the sweetness of Eurochocolate, the international chocolate festival. This year Perugia will host the event from October 19 to 28. This year a huge box of chocolates will welcome visitors in Piazza IV Novembre: five meters long, it will contain 25 assorted delicacies made with chocolate, one for each year of the event. In fact, Eurochocolate this year celebrates its 25th birthday with a richer than ever edition.

There will be about 100 stands at the ‘Chocolate Show’, a walk in the world of sweetness to taste 6000 different products and meet the “kings of chocolate”, such as the Turinese Guido Gobino and the Tuscan Andrea Slitti, who in ‘Cioccolatomania’ will hold a free guided tasting course. An entertaining novelty is that of the ‘Sweet Moments’, various art exhibitions that will come to life when and where the public least expect them, and which will be announced on social media just before their start.

An exhibition will celebrate of the festival important birthday, ‘Le immagini che hanno fatto la storia‘ (The images that made history), which will collect the shots of Eurochocolate’s official photographer, Simone Casetta. There will also be a special party: ‘Fai 25 con noi’ (Turn 25 with us), which will be held on October 23 at 11 am. For the occasion, all the visitors celebrating their own 25th birthday, or their silver wedding anniversary, are invited to write an email to the Eurochocolate’s address for a dedication on a special maxi cake. Among the most spectacular side events, there will certainly be ‘Sculture di Cioccolato di Perugina‘ (Perugina chocolate sculptures). During which, on October 21st, it will be possible to attend a live exhibition of chocolate sculptors, who, with blocks of chocolate weighing over 1000 kilos, will create works of art on the theme of birthday cakes.
