Bonhams classic cars auction in Padua

The famous Bonhams auction, ‘Auto e Moto d’Epoca‘, will return to Padua on October 27th and many of the cars for sale will be great Italian classics including some unique models, roadsters from the 50s that belonged to celebrities, and ultra-light racing cars.
Among the most prestigious lots that will be exhibited there is the 1956

Jaguar XK140 belonged to the actress Anita Ekberg, protagonist, together with Marcello Mastroianni, of the “La Dolce Vita” by Federico Fellini. The car purchased new by the actress was one of her favorite Jaguars and it will arrive in Padua after a meticulous restoration and in perfect mechanical conditions.

Other impressive cars that will be up for sale, as well as in the exhibition, are: a 1939 Horch 830 BL Convertible, which between the two world wars set the benchmark for mechanical efficiency and the practicality of driving; a 1959 Abarth 750 Record Monza, a specimen designed specifically for competitions and built in aluminum to reduce weight and ensure a speed that reached almost 190 km/h; the 1993 Alfa Romeo 155 GTA Roadster, a unique model that used as medical car during the 1994

Up for auction also the 1987 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Convertible belonged solely to Karin Dor, the German actress who was alongside Sean Connery in the James Bond movie “You only live twice”. That the proceeds from the sale of this car will be donated to Interplast-Germany eV, a charity that provides free of charge plastic surgery to victims of war, accidents, and illnesses in developing countries such as Afghanistan, Iraq, and Myanmar.
