After creating the uniforms for the Italian national soccer team for the 2012 and 2016 Olympics and for the 1994 World Cup, Emporio Armani signed a four-year agreement with the Federazione Italiana Gioco Calcio (FIGC – the Italian soccer federation) for the design of the off-field uniforms of the three Italian national teams: Women, Men, and Under 21.

In all formal occasions, the members of the teams will sport an Emporio Armani jersey suit paired with a shirt and an overcoat with detachable linings, all featuring the Italian soccer federation’s shield. In addition, Armani designed a series of accessories: shoes, a kit bag, a backpack, a belt, small leather goods, and sunglasses.

The uniform provides athletes with a distinct Italian style based on “a relaxed notion of formalwear rooted in comfort, a practical elegance conceived for bodies that are constantly on the move”, as it is described by the designer.

This agreement makes me particularly happy: I am returning to football after my experience with Chelsea and Bayern, and once again I am dressing the Italian national team,  for which I designed the uniforms of the 1994 World Cup,” Giorgio Armani said.
Roberto Mancini, the coach of the men’s national team, wearing the new outfit at the presentation commented: “We will certainly be elegant, let’s hope we will also win.
