The National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) is the largest and most faithful representative of over 25 million Italian Americans living in the United States. Like every year its Spring Gala, held at the iconic Cipriani 42nd Street in New York, has been the occasion for to celebrate the achievements of outstanding members of the region’s Italian American and Italian Community. Among them, during the 2019 edition of the event, NIAF awarded Lorenzo Zurino, founder and CEO of The One Company.
Zurino’s career began in December 2010, when he opened the headquarters of The One Company in Milan and a second office in New York. His company, one of the first Italian companies specialized in the internationalization of businesses, in less than ten years has become a special reference point for many of the largest Italian industrial companies in the food sector that wanted to export to the United States.
However, his pride and joy is not the only business that keeps him occupied. Since 2016, he became the International Department Managing Director of Gruppo Végé – a business network which includes 33 food associated businesses -, and, in the same year, he became a member of NIAF’s Italian American Leadership Council, the highest level of membership at NIAF. Moreover, in his capacity of president, Zurino is currently working on the organization of the Italian Export Forum that will take place on June 14-16 June 2019, in Sorrento, his hometown.
Zurino, who is also Director of Import, Kauffman holdings DBA_NASTASI FOODS, humbly accepted his award, in a moving speech in which he expressed his gratitude and pride in receiving such recognition and acceptance from the Italian American community.
