All the 10 richest Italian chefs

The starred restaurants in Italy closed 2018 in good health and with a + sign. The increase in terms of turnover in the last year for restaurants connected to chefs that can boast at least one Michelin star – according to the analysis of the consulting company Pambianco – has exceeded 20%, reaching almost the +22.5 %. The total turnover for the 367 Italian starred restaurants has been €293 million. Here are the top 10 chefs in terms of turnover:

Massimiliano Alajmo
– He represents the Alajmo family, which keeps on opening new eateries, bistros, and cafés designed by Philippe Starck. In 2018, the starred brothers – 3 stars at ‘Le Calandre’ di Rubano) made 14.1 million euros, which has them positioned at the top of the list of the most wealthy Italian chefs.

Antonino Cannavacciuolo
– With all his books, TV programs, and opening it is difficult to pinpoint his total turnover for 2018, however, Pambianco decided to rank him in second place because they assumed he cashed in more than the €9.9 million he made in 2017.

Carlo Cracco

Carlo Cracco – Even if he stopped his TV appearances, he recorded the highest growth rate, + 60%, compared with 2017, for a total turnover of €13 million in 2018.

Massimo Bottura
– The most famous Italian chef in the world, 3 Michelin stars with his ‘Osteria Francescana‘, number one of ’50 Best Restaurants’, earned “only” €6.9 million in 2017, but Pambianco was not able to find out his turnover for 2018.

Enrico Bartolini
– He collected a total of 6 stars in 5 different restaurants, with which he made €9 million, with a growth of 47% on the previous year.

Giancarlo Perbellini
– Thanks to the 2 stars his ‘Casa Perbellini’ in Verona and some bistros, he’s the sixth richest Italian chefs. +15% for its turnover, which rose from €5.3 million in 2017 to €6.1 million in 2018.

Andrea Berton
– With an increase of only 8% compared with 2017, the chef of the starred ‘Ristorante Berton’ made €5.5 million in 2018.

Niko Romito
– With his 3 stars at the ‘Reale Casadonna’ in Castel di Sangro, he increased his revenue of  14%, going from €4.6 in 2017 to €5.3 million in 2018, also thanks to his collaboration with Bulgari.

Enrico Crippa
– One of the few chefs that don’t love TV appearances, he owes all his turnover of €4.2 million to his 3 stars ‘Piazza Duomo’, which had a 3% growth compared with 2017.

Alfonso Iaccarino – Although he is in the last position of the ranking, the chef of the 2 stars Don Alfonso 1890 in Sant’Agata sui Due Golfi boast a good +26%, which took his 2018 turnover to €3.1 million.
