Proving that it is possible to enjoy luxury holidays while respecting the environment, Resort Valle dell’Erica Thalasso & SPA has been crowned Europe’s Leading Green Resort 2019, the Oscar for the best environmentally friendly resort out of 600 Europen finalists, which has been awarded at the 2019 Word Travel Awards, the Academy Awards of international tourism.
Located just a few minutes from Santa Teresa Gallura in a 30-hectare park and overlooking a white sand beach, the winning structure is part of the Delphinia hotels & resorts group that is managed by two local families who have always been attentive to protecting the environment and protecting the territory, right from the planning stage. The structure was in fact designed to integrate harmoniously into the environment and in its management sustainable choices are considered extremely important. Choices such as: serving local food, avoiding plastic water bottles, using energy from renewable sources, driving electric vehicles, cleaning with Ecolabel detergents, and using organic cosmetic products in the wellness center. Moreover, the Delphinia group is a Corporate Golden Donor of the FAI (Italian Environmental Foundation) and promotes initiatives, guided tours, excursions, and events with the aim of engaging guests and sharing their love for the nature, history, archeology, and traditions of the island.
Elena Muntoni, Brand Director of Delphinia hotels & resorts commented on the award: “_Since childhood, our father has educated us to a sense of responsibility towards the island on which we live, the sea that surrounds it, the people, animals, and plants. Winning this award for Resort Valle dell’Erica, our flagship, is more than a simple recognition. It is the confirmation of the results that our family has tried to _achieve in over a quarter of a century and helps us to guide our future actions.”
Hopefully, Resort Erica Valley can be an example for other hotels and resorts.
