Star of the Chicago Bulls in the 1980s and 1990s, Michael Jordan ended his career in the Washington Wizards. He won six NBA, one Ncaa titles and, with the US National Team, two Olympics (1984 and 1992), and golds at the American Championships (1992) and the Pan American Games (1993). After the commitments with his Jordan Brand – within the Nike universe – in Paris, the basketball legend, and current owner of the Charlotte Hornets, landed in the Florence and headed to the hotel before visiting the Uffizi Museum.
Jordan has never hidden his passion for the Bel Paese and has taken advantage of his trip to Europe to visit from Florence, where however his presence has not gone unnoticed. In fact, as he exited from the Hotel Savoy, where he lodges, there were already many fans waiting for him. He waived, smiled, and quickly slipped into a black van that took him to to the Uffizi Gallery.
Thanks to its ‘Painting’, ‘Architecture’, ‘Sculpture’, ‘Department of Prints and Drawings’, and ‘Books and Archives’ collections, with a visit to the Uffizi Gallery Jordan will be able to immerse himself in the world of beautiful, breathtaking art. The Gallery, which entirely occupies the first and second floors of the large building designed by Giorgio Vasari in 1560, is famous worldwide for its outstanding collections of ancient sculptures and paintings from the Middle Ages to the Modern period including masterpieces from the 14th-century and Renaissance period.
Florence is now one of the top destinations for American celebrities and many of them in the last summers have chosen Florence and Tuscany for their holidays like actress Gwyneth Paltrow, who is currently in the Tuscan capital.
