Gucci high jewelry boutique opened in Paris

On the occasion of the Paris Fashion Week, iconic Italian luxury brand Gucci has widened its interpretation of haute couture to include haute jewelry and opened the doors to a new boutique and a new market in Place Vendome, the world’s most important address for jewelry.

The boutique offers a wide range of unique pieces, including the new ‘Hortus Deliciarum‘ collection designed by creative director Alessandro Michele. The collection is made of over two hundred articles, mainly unique pieces, and develops motifs focused on three themes. The first one pays homage to the classic emblems of eternal love; the second one is an ode to the majesty of the animal kingdom and evokes mythical bestiaries and ancient fauna; while, the third is dedicated to the solitaries redefined with a maximalist allure. In the ‘Hortus Deliciarum‘ collection, colored gems evoke a mythical garden in full bloom, whose color range includes honey-colored imperial topazes, pink topazes, green tourmalines, mandarin garnets, white diamonds, pink and blue sapphires, iridescent opals and yellow beryl – unique gems personally found by Michele.

Gucci boutiques around the world are wee-known for their characteristic saturated colors, however, the Place  Vendôme boutique differs from all of them and is characterized by refined sobriety. The showcases are made of ebonized wood and internally lined with aqua green satin and antiqued mirrors, which are counterpointed by the brass details and a marble mosaic floor in Nero Marquina and Bianco Thassos. This choice of sober colors, together with the design of the boutique’s layout allows giving maximum emphasis to the multicolored vivacity of the jewels themselves.
