Lineapelle is the most important international exhibition dedicated to leather, accessories, components, synthetics and models for footwear, leather goods, garments, and furniture. Since 1981, its fair system, with its regular events in Milan – in February for the summer and September for the winter collections – and its connected “niche” events, like the one in New York, has been showcasing the high quality of the exhibiting companies, with their outstanding style and customer service. On July 17th and 18th, it will present to the US market the Winter 2019-20 collections during the 36th edition of ‘Lineapelle New York’ at the iconic Metropolitan Pavilion.
The trade exhibition, 131 selected exhibitors (99 tanneries, 13 accessories / components, 17 fabric / synthetic manufacturers, 2 institutions) will present the stylistic work in progress for the 2020/2021 winter season which will be characterized by a particular tone of red. On it, Lineapelle has built a sort of chromatic engagement project ‘On Everyone’s Lips‘, which included the development of lipstick to be handed out as gadget.
The rich program of seminars and workshops offered by Lineapelle includes an important meeting concerning the need to define the most authoritative tools and platforms for certification in the leather sector, with the topic being discussed by CSCB (Brasilian Leather Certification of Sustainability), the Institute of Quality Certification for the Leather Sector, and the Leather Working Group. While the Consorzio Vera Pelle Italian Conciata al Vegetale (Genuine Italian Vegetable-Tanned Leather Consortium) organized the seminar titled ‘Inherent Vice & the Virtuos Cluster seminar: the Case of Tuscan Veg Tan Leather’.
The highly anticipated New York event will be preceded, on July 16th, by the 4th edition of the World Leather Congress, the international meeting that brings together tanners from all over the world, which has been organized by Leather Industries of America and the US Hide and Leather Association, under the hat of the International Council of Tanners and with the important contribution of Concerie Italiane and Lineapelle.
