Rome hosts the Longines Global Champions Tour

The Eternal City is about to host the elite of the world of showjumping for the 14th edition of the Longines Global Champions Tour, the most prestigious show-jumping circuit with the best international riders and horses. From Thursday 5 to Sunday 8 September, the ‘Formula 1′ of the equestrian world will amaze the public in the exceptional setting of the Stadio dei Marmi “Pietro Mennea”. This unique location, ringed by 59 classical marble statues depicting different sports is one of the arenas in the Foro Italico sports area, home to the Italian Olympic Committee and it will host the Longines Global Champions Tour for the fourth year running.

This year the Longines Global Champions Tour is developed on a calendar of 19 overall events distributed in 14 countries. It will arrive in Rome for its 16th event of both the individual competition, the Longines Global Champions Tour, and the team one, the Global Champions League. For the two competitions Italy will be represented by six riders: Caporal Major Alberto Zorzi, Carabiniere Scelto Emanuele Gaudiano, 1st Class Airman Luca Marziani, 1st Class Airman Giulia Martinengo Marquet, Roberto Turchetto, and Matias Alvaro.

Thousands of fans will be able to experience 4 days of great riding as well as numerous collateral initiatives, shows, and evening events. Many the initiatives reserved for young people, among them stands out the Future Champions Lounge, an exclusive area where young riders and enthusiasts will be able to meet their heroes, experience the preparation in the trial court and watch all the races of the best duos in the world.
