Hotel Santa Caterina is a unique location nestled in an estate of enchanting beauty a few minutes from Amalfi
October is the ideal month to spend a few days in contact with nature, rediscovering the taste of simple things on the stretch of coastline on the northern coast of the Salerno Gulf, the Amalfi Coast.
There is no longer the chaos and heat of the summer months and it is possible to enjoy a relaxing break in one of the most beautiful areas of the Peninsula. Thanks to its historic gardens, breathtaking views and green crops, the Amalfi Coast is one of the most popular destinations for the autumn season.
Hotel Santa Caterina welcomes its guests and guide them on private tours of Amalfi with its splendid Cathedral, Cloister of Paradise, and Paper Museum, the gardens of Villa Rufolo, those of Villa Cimbrone, the most beautiful in the area. Moreover, one of Santa Caterina’s gardeners guides them through the splendid botanical gardens, citrus groves, orchards, and organic crops that surround the hotel.
Santa Caterina is a hotel of ancient tradition, managed by the Gambardella family since the beginning of the 1900s, in a splendid position, overlooking the sea. The gardens by which it is surrounded have a truly exceptional extension.
On the one hand, natural terraces rich in multicolored flowers and lush bougainvillea that go down to the sea, on the other one, gorgeous orange and lemon trees. Two lifts carved into the rock or a path of spectacular beauty take guests through citrus groves and lush gardens to sea-level facilities, which include a seawater swimming pool, solarium, fitness center, café/bar, and outdoor restaurant.
A large part of the estate is cultivated as a vegetable garden to supply the kitchen of the restaurant with fresh vegetables in every season. Eggplants, tomatoes, courgettes, aromatic herbs and freshly picked lemons from the gardens and regional products make the traditional or original dishes offered by the elegant Santa Caterina Restaurant unique. Which in the evening turns into a magic location for romantic candlelit dinners in front of the suggestive panorama of Amalfi illuminated by the moon.
Very romantic are also the suites called ‘Follia Amalfitana‘, which features a round mini-pool with a glass window an amazing view of the bay, and ‘Giulietta e Romeo’, which for its small private garden with a heated infinity pool, and a small and picturesque circular balcony located exactly three steps from the bed has been chosen by Kim Kardashian for her Italian holidays. In total Hotel Santa Caterina has 36 rooms and 13 of junior suites located in the main building on top of the 17 rooms and suites in the ‘Villa Santa Caterina’ and ‘Villa il Rosso’ dépendances immersed in the park.
