Record-breaking 2019 Genoa International Boat Show

Almost 190 thousand visitors celebrated the sea and the world of boats in Liguria

The record-breaking 59th edition of the Genoa International Boat Show, which ended a few days ago, has been visited by roughly 188,000 people eager to learn all the novelties concerning the world of sailboats and motor yachts, water sports, and related electronics, accessories, and clothing.

With 986 exhibitors from 28 countries in over 200,000 square meters of land and water exhibition spaces, over a thousand boats on display, and 45 related events throughout the city, the Show proved once more to be a very important occasion for anyone that works in the sector as well as enthusiasts.

During the closing conference, Carla Demaria, president of I Saloni Nautici, provided the expected closing data of the event: “At 11:00 am on September 24th, 186,641 visitors turned up at the turnstiles, an important number that shows a + 7% compared to 2018. At the end of the day, we will most probably exceed 188 thousand presences. […] We had the peak of visitors on Saturday, September 21st with the extraordinary figure of 43,000 visitors throughout the day.” On top of the visitors, the trade fair attracted 150 foreign operators and journalists from 25 countries. The Tech Trade saw the participation of 45 organizations between companies and start-ups that met over 60 Italian exhibitors for a total of 610 BtoB meetings.

Demaria also launched the next edition of the Genoa International Boat Show, which will take place in Genoa from September 17th to September 22nd, 2020: “The 60th edition will be an even greater celebration of the Sea.”

In fact, a newly-signed multi-year agreement concerning the management of the event provides that, until 2029, the Genoa International Boat Show will be organized by I Saloni Nautici, a subsidiary of UCINA (Italian Marine Industry Association) that has been organizing it since 2013. There are also talks of an expansion of the Boat Show, with the involvement of the Porto Antico area.
