The fashion icon and sportswear brand launched their limited-edition Made in Italy collection

An authentic fusion between fashion and sport. This, in short, is the best description of the latest partnership of the Prada group with Adidas. The iconic Italian fashion house and the industry-leading sportswear brand Adidas have joined forces to start a new collaborative journey. At the heart of this creative joint-venture, there is a shared passion for the universe of sport. At the same time, it aims to investigate the realms of heritage, technology, and innovation.

Prada’s success resides in the interplay between form and function, luxury and utility, and the ability to juxtapose different ideologies. While, Adidas’ sporting heritage is based on its visionary approach to technological development, sporting innovation, and precision technology. In the new collaboration, this merges with Prada’s history in leather-goods and perspective on luxury and quality. The first outcome is “Prada for Adidas”, an exclusive limited-edition collection of footwear for men and women that is entirely made in Italy by Prada that will debut worldwide in December. This is described as being “born for sport, rethought for street style, and now transformed into luxury items.”

The two companies met on Luna Rossa, heralding Prada’s participation also in the next America’s Cup in March 2021 in New Zealand.

In fact, the sailing boat is the perfect laboratory to test new materials and technology. For this reason in 2020, Prada for Adidas will release the result of their collective effort, the new Luna Rossa performance sailing footwear.
