Ideal for families as well as single travelers these two are these are the best Italian destinations
The European Best Destinations published the latest edition of European Best Ski Resorts. The chart presents the best 15 European destinations for the winter holidays and among them, there are two Italian ones. More than 120,000 travelers from around the world voted and Livigno and Cortina d’Ampezzo ranked 4th and 9th respectively.
Livigno is a spectacular town in the province of Sondrio, in the northern part of Lombardy, the heart of the Italian Alps. At 1500 meters above sea level, between Stelvio National Park and the Swiss National Park, it offers great sceneries and natural beauty. The area includes 115 km of ski slopes, including many challenging ones, served by cableways, chairlifts, and ski lifts. Livigno’s snow parks offer all kinds of snow activities, including specific ones dedicated to children, and familiy discounts. The snow season here is very long and it is possible to practice all winter sports from autumn till May. The 9,427 travelers that voted it also appreciated the off-snow entertainment offer. This includes pubs and clubs where to enjoy music, dance and drinks with fellow tourists.
Cortina d’Ampezzo, or simply Cortina, in the province of Belluno, is surrounded by the breathtaking scenery of the Dolomite.
Italy’s best-known mountain resort, in 2021, will host the World Alpine Ski Championships and, in 2026, the Winter Olympics. Cortina’s three ski areas, each with their unique characteristics, boast 120km of slopes, from beginner runs to Olympic level ones.
Given the large tourist turnout, Cortina is the ideal destination even for single travelers, as finding new friends here is certainly easy.
