Dallara wins, once more, the 24 Hour of Daytona

The Cadillac #10 and Cadillac #5, made by the Italian chassis manufacturer, arrived 1st and 3rd

The 24 Hours of Daytona which has been held since 1966 in Daytona Beach in Florida is inspired by the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It is one of the most iconic endurance races in the United States. And the protagonists of its 58th edition were sporting Italian chassis manufactured by Dallara.

Team Wayne Taylor Racing, made up of Kamui Kobayashi, Renger Van Der Zande, Scott Dixon, and Ryan Briscoe won with the Cadillac # 10. While the Cadillac # 5 of the JDC Miller team – Joao Barbosa, Sebastian Bourdais, and Loic Duval – managed to conquer the third step of the podium. Both Cadillacs are Dallara products. It is the third success in four seasons. Moreover, Cadillac #5 completed a record number of laps: 833.

Engineer Giampaolo Dallara, president of Dallara, commented: “Four wins in four seasons was a difficult result to conquer. Especially this year, when the competition was even more fierce than in the past. Yesterday’s victory filled us with pride. Also, winning with the mileage record in the year in which the future rules of the IMSA championship are redefined was even more important. We must be proud of this result. And for this, I want to thank all the company’s collaborators; for this effort that has given us enormous satisfaction.

Dallara is a small company, with 630 employees on the Parma hills, plus another 60 in Indianapolis.

Gian Paolo Dallara founded it in 1972 and it started building chassis for sports car racing and hillclimbing.

Dallara designed its first Formula Three car for Walter Wolf Racing in 1978. With its latest victory, it confirmed the quality of its chassis, and it proved to be another great Italian excellence.
