Italy, style, and the world of fashion are one and they cannot be parted even by a health crisis. Bulgari, Armani and Dolce & Gabbana have come forward to fund hospitals and research institutions throughout Italy.

The Armani Group announced the decision to donate 1.25 million euros. These funds will go to the Luigi Sacco hospital, the San Raffaele hospital and Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori in Milan, and to the Lazzaro Spallanzani hospital in Rome. Additionally, it will support the activities of Protezione Civile, the country’s civil defense.

In February, Bulgari donated a cutting-edge microscopic system for image acquisition to the National Institute for Infectious Diseases of Lazzaro Spallanzani hospital in Rome. The institution in which, three Italian scientists, Maria Rosaria Capobianchi, Francesca Colavita, and Concetta Castilletti, stood out for being among the first in Europe to isolate the virus. Bulgari’s CEO Jean-Christophe Babin said: “The research team can now work with the most technologically advanced tools accelerating the achievement of the result. This will be to the benefit of anyone on the planet potentially victim of the virus.” He also added: “We hope that our contribution will help speed up antivirus treatments. And we are proud to offer it to the scientific team of the Lazzaro Spallanzani hospital, who has taken this extraordinary step forward.

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana also decided to stay on the front line making a large donation to Humanitas University.

This will finance a study coordinated by Professor Alberto Mantovani, in collaboration with virologists Elisa Vicenzi and Massimo Clementi of the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University.
