The new 250sqm suite, at 46,000€ per night in high season, will be the most expensive in Italy
Costa Smeralda is not one of the most exclusive destinations only in Sardinia but in the entire world. Smeralda Holding is an Italian company owned by the Qatar Investment Authority sovereign fund. And, since 2012, it owns much of the real estate and land assets along this stretch of coastline.
Recently, the holding announced the opening of its properties for the 2020 summer season. These include 4 luxury hotels – Cala di Volpe, Hotel Romazzino, Hotel Pitrizza, and Hotel Cervo –, restaurants, bars, the Nikki Beach club, and the Waterfront. In addition to these venues, many other activities are already welcoming tourists. The Pevero Golf Club reopened at the end of May and the Porto Cervo shipyard recommenced its activity at the beginning of June, while the Porto Cervo Marina has never closed.
Moreover, this year Hotel Cala di Volpe will open with a new look.
It underwent important refurbishing works designed by the French architect Bruno Moinard. These involved the complete renovation of 70 rooms, the external terrace, and a completely new suite. At a price of 46,000€ per night, it will be the most expensive suite in Italy and will become the emblem of luxury hospitality on the Costa Smeralda. The 250 square meter suite has a private pool overlooking the bay and bearing the Harrods brand name.
Costa Smeralda, with its uncontaminated nature and low tourist density and characterized by wide open spaces that are never crowded, is an ideal destination for a safe and tranquil holiday. For this reason, despite the late opening of the borders, the forecast is for a progressive improvement of the season. Indeed, by August, figures in terms of tourist movement are expected to be almost in line with past seasons.
