The introduction of the Michelin Keys represents a revolution in the hospitality world, comparable to the importance of the Michelin stars in the dining sector. This new rating system, which rewards hotels that are not just places to stay but true masterpieces of hospitality, has recently made its debut in Italy, with some hotels receiving the prestigious recognition of three Keys. In this first edition, a total of 8 establishments in our country were awarded. Which ones? JK Place in Capri, Corte della Maestà in Civita di Bagnoregio, Castello di Reschio in Lisciano Niccone, Casa Maria Luigia in Modena, Rosewood Castiglion Del Bosco in Montalcino, San Pietro di Positano, Aman Venice in Venice, and the Cipriani (Belmond Hotel group) on the Lagoon.
A new standard of excellence
The three Michelin Keys are awarded to hotels that not only excel in terms of comfort and service but offer such an extraordinary experience that they merit a special journey. These hotels stand out for their ability to be a destination in themselves, with outstanding interior architecture and design, consistent quality service, impeccable maintenance, and a unique character that reflects the personality of the institution.
The introduction of the Michelin Keys has a significant impact on tourism, raising the level of expectations and experiences that travelers can enjoy. These hotels not only attract tourists seeking luxury and comfort but also those who desire a unique experience, immersed in the culture and excellence of Italian hospitality.
The selection of these hotels, operated independently and based on rigorous criteria, pushes the entire hotel sector upward, stimulating other hotels to improve and innovate to meet these new standards of excellence. Moreover, the guide offers users the ability to choose, book, and share their experiences on an independent platform, increasing transparency and trust in the industry.
Experiences that go beyond the stay
Hotels that receive three Michelin Keys offer much more than just a room for the night. They are designed to be an integral part of the travel experience, significantly contributing to the cultural and personal experience of their guests. This is reflected not only in the quality of the facilities and services but also in the uniqueness of the offerings, which may include high-level gastronomic experiences, exclusive activities, and deep integration with the local context.
