Ferruccio Laviani brings Italian design to New York

Ferruccio Laviani is at the heart of a spectacular celebration of Italian design in New York, curating the exhibition "Italian Design: from Classic to Contemporary" at Bloomingdale's, in collaboration with the Salone del Mobile.Milano.

Running from September 5 to 29, this event is part of the “From Italy, with Love” program, honoring Italian culture and luxury. Laviani has crafted an immersive experience inspired by Giorgio de Chirico’s metaphysical piazzas, blending classic and contemporary design icons, such as Oluce’s Atollo lamp and creations from renowned Italian brands like Kartell, Flexform, and Molteni&C.

This exhibition goes beyond a static display, offering a dynamic interaction and learning experience. Throughout the month, Bloomingdale’s will host a series of talks featuring prominent figures from the international design world, including Maria Porro, president of the Salone del Mobile, and Laviani himself, discussing the role of Italian design on the global stage.

The installation highlights not only the craftsmanship of Made in Italy design but also its ability to merge innovation with tradition, providing visitors with a visual and cultural journey through decades of Italian creativity and ingenuity.
