Italian Radicchio captivated Munich with an exclusive event for the press and industry professionals. Held on December 12, 2024, the prestigious setting of The Charles Hotel Munich, a Rocco Forte Hotel, hosted the MasterClass organized by All About Italy in collaboration with the Consorzio del Radicchio Rosso di Treviso IGP e del Radicchio Variegato di Castelfranco IGP. This gathering provided a unique opportunity to showcase the features and values of this iconic Italian product.

The event, which brought together a select audience of restaurateurs and industry operators, aimed to promote the culture and heritage of the Radicchio Rosso di Treviso IGP and Radicchio Variegato di Castelfranco IGP, protected by their respective Consortia. Attendees explored the history, production methods, nutritional benefits, and the wide range of culinary applications of radicchio.

Gianluca Casini, President of the Italian Chefs Association in Germany, enriched the session with a captivating culinary journey, demonstrating the endless versatility of this ingredient in both Italian and international cuisine.

Denis Susanna, Director of the Consorzio del Radicchio Rosso di Treviso IGP e del Radicchio Variegato di Castelfranco IGP. His presentation highlighted the deep connection between the product and its region of origin, emphasizing the importance of spring water in the cultivation process and the numerous culinary possibilities for both fresh and processed radicchio.

A standout moment of the event was the tasting session, curated by Chef Gianluca Casini, who presented innovative pairings of radicchio with flavors from German cuisine, underscoring its versatility and distinctive character. The event reaffirmed the central role of Radicchio Rosso di Treviso IGP and Radicchio Variegato di Castelfranco IGP as ambassadors of quality and gastronomic tradition on the international stage.

The initiative was further enriched by the participation of Acqua Fiordilino and the Prosecco DOC Consortium.
