Ferrari surpasses Maserati and reclaims the top spot among Italian luxury cars in 2024

The Maranello-based automaker recorded an 11.8% increase in net revenues, reaching €6.677 billion, and delivered a total of 13,752 vehicles, marking a 0.7% rise compared to the previous year.

This success is attributed to several factors, including the launch of high-impact models, expansion into new regions, and a business strategy focused on luxury and performance. Ferrari has mastered the balance between innovation and tradition, introducing models like the Ferrari Purosangue, Roma Spider, and 296 GTS, which have significantly contributed to sales. Notably, the Purosangue was Ferrari’s third best-selling model between January and August 2024, with nearly 1,500 units delivered. The model has been a winning bet for the brand, proving that the luxury SUV segment can be embraced without compromising Ferrari’s sporty essence.

Another key factor has been Ferrari’s ability to maintain brand exclusivity. Unlike other luxury automakers, Ferrari has continued to limit production, keeping demand high and ensuring strong resale values. This strategy has reinforced Ferrari’s perception as a symbol of prestige and desirability.

Looking ahead, Ferrari has already outlined a clear strategy to consolidate its leadership in the luxury automotive sector. The company plans to launch new electrified models, aiming to maintain high performance while reducing CO2 emissions. The Ferrari SF90 Stradale, the brand’s first plug-in hybrid model, received an extraordinary reception, proving that even an electrified vehicle can embody Ferrari’s philosophy.

Meanwhile, Maserati is working on** renewing its brand image,** aiming for a revitalization through new electric models. Among them, the GranTurismo Folgore, the brand’s first fully electric supercar, is expected to differentiate Maserati in the market and compete more directly with brands like Porsche Taycan and Tesla Model S Plaid.
