On Sicily’s south-eastern coast, between the UNESCO-listed Val di Noto and the Archaeological Park of Kamarina, Costa Ragusa introduces a new way to experience the island through hospitality, wellness, sports and local culture. An ambitious project designed to showcase one of Sicily’s most captivating and still undiscovered regions.
South-eastern Sicily is home to one of the island’s most enchanting landscapes. Along the coastline stretching from Kamarina to Scoglitti, Marina di Ragusa and the Val di Noto, crystal-clear waters meet archaeological treasures, sun-drenched countryside and magnificent Baroque towns. This is where Costa Ragusa is taking shape, introducing a new way to experience this remarkable corner of Sicily while celebrating its natural beauty, cultural heritage and local identity. More than a hospitality project, Costa Ragusa has been conceived as a destination where visitors can enjoy wellness, sports, fine cuisine and authentic experiences deeply connected to the region. The project ranks among Italy’s most significant tourism investments in recent years and is set to strengthen the international appeal of Sicily’s south-eastern coast. Costa Ragusa brings together Mangia’s Costa Ragusa Borgo, Icona’s Costa Ragusa Resort and, from 2027, the renewed Donnafugata Golf Resort, offering three distinct hospitality experiences within a single destination. As Marcello Mangia, President and CEO of the Group, has highlighted, Costa Ragusa was created to introduce international travellers to a lesser-known side of Sicily while generating new opportunities for the local economy and the region’s tourism industry.
Two Distinct Ways to Experience Sicily
Although conceived as part of the same project, the two resorts offer very different experiences. Mangia’s Costa Ragusa Borgo draws inspiration from the atmosphere of a traditional Sicilian village, with Piazza Ibla serving as its vibrant social heart. Surrounding it are elegant rooms, suites and villas set within Mediterranean gardens, creating an ideal setting for families, couples and travellers looking to combine relaxation with an active holiday. Dining is an integral part of the guest experience. Through the All Inclusive Sublime programme, guests can alternate between generous buffet restaurants and refined à la carte dining, discovering the authentic flavours of Sicilian and Italian cuisine. The resort also offers an extensive range of sporting facilities, including fourteen red-clay tennis courts, padel, pickleball, water sports and activities for younger guests, making it an ideal destination for active holidays and sports enthusiasts. More intimate in scale, Icona’s Costa Ragusa Resort introduces the philosophy of quiet luxury as the first property within the new Icona’s Collection. With 105 rooms and suites, understated interiors, natural materials and architecture designed to blend seamlessly with the surrounding landscape, the resort offers an atmosphere of privacy, wellbeing and effortless elegance. Its wellness offering is further enriched through a partnership with The Longevity Suite, featuring personalised programmes focused on wellbeing, longevity and holistic regeneration.

A Destination for Every Season
Sport, wellness and nature define the Costa Ragusa experience. Tennis, golf, padel, outdoor activities and dedicated wellness programs have all been designed to make the most of the destination’s naturally long season, which runs from May through November, extending the travel experience well beyond the traditional summer months. From 2027, Costa Ragusa will be further enhanced by the renewed Donnafugata Golf Resort, featuring two championship 18-hole golf courses. The addition will further strengthen its position as a leading Italian destination for golf tourism. Just a short drive away lie the UNESCO-listed towns of Ragusa Ibla, Modica and Scicli, together with Donnafugata Castle and the Archaeological Park of Kamarina—remarkable places where history, art, gastronomy and extraordinary landscapes reveal the authentic character of Sicily.
Costa Ragusa is an invitation to discover a different side of Sicily- one defined by spectacular coastlines, rich cultural heritage and the timeless rhythm of Sicilian life.
