Few Italian wine denominations have achieved the level of success in the United States that Prosecco DOC enjoys today. In 2025, Prosecco DOC reached a new milestone with 667 million bottles produced, representing an estimated retail value of 3.6 billion Euros. International markets account for 82% of total sales, or 547 million bottles, with North America representing 26.1% of global exports. Prosecco DOC Rosé now comprises 9% of production, while sparkling Prosecco DOC remains the cornerstone of the denomination, accounting for nearly 78% of all bottles produced. These results reinforce Prosecco DOC’s position as one of Italy’s most successful wine denominations and a global ambassador for the Italian lifestyle. Behind this growth is more than consumer demand for sparkling wine. Prosecco DOC has come to represent a distinctly Italian way of living: one rooted in conviviality, quality, authenticity, and the pleasure of bringing people together. These values continue to shape the denomination’s identity and resonate with consumers worldwide.
To bring these values to life on a global stage, the Consortium has developed a portfolio of international partnerships, using sport to connect with consumers beyond the wine world.
As Official Sparkling Wine Sponsor of the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, Prosecco DOC showcased Italian excellence on one of the world’s most prestigious stages, celebrating not only athletic achievement, but also Italy’s culture, hospitality, and lifestyle.
The Consortium has also partnered with MotoGPTM, aligning Prosecco DOC with one of the world’s premier motorsport championships. With a global calendar spanning Europe, the Americas, Asia, and the Middle East, MotoGPTM attracts millions of passionate fans and creates countless moments of celebration, from podium victories to shared experiences among spectators. As the sparkling wine chosen to toast these occasions, Prosecco DOC naturally complements the excitement, conviviality, and Italian spirit that define the sport, bringing people together to celebrate both on and off the track.
Few wine denominations have embraced sports partnerships with the breadth and strategic vision of Prosecco DOC. Beyond the Winter Olympics and Paralympics, the Consortium has built partnerships across motorsports, sailing, rugby, volleyball, and endurance sports, including, the Barcolana Autumn Cup Regatta, Benetton Rugby and Prosecco DOC Imoco Volley Conegliano. Together, these collaborations extend Prosecco DOC beyond traditional wine marketing, reaching new audiences while reinforcing the denomination as a global symbol of Italian lifestyle, excellence, and celebration.
For American consumers, Prosecco DOC has become more than a sparkling wine: it is the bottle of choice for life’s celebrations, from everyday gatherings to milestone moments, reflecting the joyful, approachable spirit of the Italian lifestyle.
