Lamborghini has unveiled the new Aventador SVJ Roadster at the Geneva International Motor Show. Following in the footsteps of the existing Aventador SVJ, the Roadster boasts a 770 horsepower at 8,500 RPM and 531 pound-feet of torque from its 6.5-liter V12.

Produced in just 800 units, with its aerodynamic lines and breathtaking design, it is the expression of the most refined Italian taste and craftsmanship. It is also the company’s most powerful series-production V12 ever, which will be able to hit 217 miles per hour hitting 62 miles-per-hour in just 2.9 seconds. These performances are fostered by the ALA 2.0 system with the new optimized air inlet and aero channel designs.

The ALA system actively varies aero load to achieve high downforce or low drag, depending on dynamic conditions. Electronically-actuated motors open or close active flaps in the front splitter and on the engine bonnet that steer the air-flow, front and rear. Moreover, for the Roadster, the system has been re-calibrated taking into account the enhanced vehicle’s lateral accelerations. The power-operated rear window can open or close, regardless of whether the roof is open, allowing it to serve as a windblocker or provide more ventilation. And the built-in touchscreen infotainment system features navigation and Apple CarPlay support. In the words of Lamborghini CEO Stefano Domenicali: “With the same extraordinary performance roof on or off, the Aventador SVJ Roadster incorporates the dynamism of the coupe with the unique spirit of a Lamborghini roadster.”

The new Lamborghini jewel will reach customers during next summer, with US pricing listed from $573,966 before any options and taxes.
