The high-speed train symbol of Italian excellence and the historic training ship of the Italian Navy come together for a Mediterranean tour celebrating Italian heritage through culture, technology, and sustainability. In 2025, two icons of Italian excellence—Trenitalia’s Frecciarossa and the Italian Navy’s training ship Amerigo Vespucci—joined forces to promote Made in Italy through an unprecedented initiative. This collaboration represents the meeting of innovation and tradition, highlighting the value of Italian excellence worldwide.
Frecciarossa, the emblem of Italian high-speed rail, accompanied Amerigo Vespucci on the “Mediterranean Tour,” a journey that visited 17 cities, starting on March 1, 2025, in Trieste and concluding on June 10 in Genoa, coinciding with the Italian Navy Day. During this period, the ship hosted the “Villaggio IN Italia,” a traveling exhibition showcasing the best of Made in Italy, from culture to innovation, from food and wine to technology.
The collaboration between Frecciarossa and Amerigo Vespucci emphasized the connection between past and future, land and sea, promoting values of sustainability and innovation. Frecciarossa embodies modernity, speed, and comfort, while Amerigo Vespucci represents history, culture, and naval craftsmanship. During the tour stops, visitors had the opportunity to explore both the ship and the exhibition village, attending cultural events, exhibitions, and meetings dedicated to Italian excellence. This initiative reinforced Italy’s image as a country capable of blending tradition and innovation, offering the world tangible examples of quality and mastery. The partnership between Frecciarossa and Amerigo Vespucci was a symbolic journey across the Mediterranean, celebrating Italian pride and promoting the nation’s excellence on an international stage.
