The Italian fashion for next fall-winter season launched an Inclusion and Diversity Manifesto

The importance of inclusion for the Milan Fashion Week (MFW) inaugurated today is obvious from its communication campaign. The protagonist is Lea T, the Brazilian-born, Italian-raised transgender model that for long has been the muse of Riccardo Tisci when he was at Givenchy.

Carlo Capasa, president of the National Chamber of Fashion, explained: “In December, we presented our Inclusion and Diversity Manifesto. It indicates ten key points that everyone should adopt to have corporate policies that are more attentive to inclusiveness and diversity. At the launch of the manifesto at the Girolamo theater in Milan, we invited Lea T to recount her experience. It was a touching speech that prompted us to want her as the protagonist of our communication campaign for the Fashion Week.”

The MFW opened today and will continue until February 24^th.

During these days, there will be a total of 56 fashion shows illustrating the proposals for the fall-winter 2020/21 season.

And to confirm the importance given to inclusion, 12 of the fashion shows will present collection dedicated to both women and men. The shows will start tomorrow with Gucci, Alberta Ferretti, and N ° 21 by Alessandro Dell’Acqua. While on the last day it will end with Alexandra Moura.

On the 20^th there will be Prada and Fendi, while Emporio Armani, Etro, and Versace shows will take place on the 21^st. Other important names present at this MFW are Ferragamo, Missoni, Laura Biagiotti, Dolce & Gabbana, Giorgio Armani, Romeo Gigli, Moschino, and Moncler.

The most awaited collateral event is the ‘Heimat. A sense of belonging‘ exhibition at the Armani Silos. A solo exhibition of photographer Peter Lindbergh, which will  be on show from February 22^nd to August 2^nd. It presents about 70 photos of the artist who passed away last year, many of which never published before.
